Building a business is exciting. Building one on someone else’s platform? Not quite as exciting.
When I had my jewellery business, I experienced what happens when you rely on a platform to connect with your customers.
I’d poured my time, energy, and creativity into building something I loved. But I learned that having customers and having a direct way to stay connected with those customers are two very different things.
That experience taught me something I’ve never forgotten:
Your audience is one of the most valuable things you can build for your business.
Not because of how many subscribers you have. But because of the relationships you can create with them. And the opportunities those relationships can open up.
Two years. Three certifications. And one big realization.
I’ve always loved learning how businesses work. The strategy. The systems. The funnels. The launches.
I wanted to understand how everything connected so I could create a business that worked beautifully. So I invested in my education, earned my certifications, and spent plenty of time getting everything ready.
The website. The offers. The strategy. All those little details that make you feel like you’re building something incredible.
But somewhere along the way, I realized I’d been missing a pretty important piece.
I was getting ready to launch… without building an audience to launch to!
And suddenly, everything clicked.
What good is the most beautiful website if nobody knows it’s there? What good is an amazing offer if you don’t have people who are excited to hear about it? And what good is a brilliant funnel if there’s nobody entering it?
That’s when my approach to building a business began to change.
