I learned the hard way that you should never build on someone else's land.

I had a jewellery business that was doing really well. The platform worked. Customers found me. Sales came in. I thought I had it figured out, and for years I made really good money.

But I never built a list. I never collected my customers' email addresses. I never owned my audience, the platform did.

Until the platform stopped working for me. And just like that, the audience I had spent years building was gone. I couldn't take them with me. I had nothing.

That lesson never left me.

Years later when I started building my new online business I kept rebuilding my brand over and over, collected certifications, fine-tuned my funnel. Always one more thing before I felt ready.

The closer I got to launching the worse it felt. Because deep down I knew the truth.

I had nothing to launch to. Again.

Then one day I stopped rebuilding and started getting myself out there. Started building my list.

And then it happened. Someone signed up.

One person. That's all it took. Because if one person believed in what I was building, others could follow. And in that moment this whole online business thing stopped being a dream and became real.

That's why I'm so passionate about this. I've lost an audience once because I didn't own it. I'm never doing that again. And I don't want you to either.
